Job Types:
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Accurately assign appropriate medical codes (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) to procedures and services for billing purposes.
- Prepare and submit insurance claims for reimbursement, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.
- Monitor and track payments, denials, and outstanding balances and take necessary actions to ensure timely payment and minimize revenue loss.
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing statements, insurance coverage, and payment options, providing clear and accurate information and assistance as needed.
- Stay updated on changes in insurance regulations, coding guidelines, and billing practices to ensure compliance.
- Work closely with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and insurance companies to resolve billing issues, address concerns, and optimize revenue cycle processes.
- Work with the reception staff and ensure appropriate collection of co-pays and self-pay fees.
- Posts adjustments, transfer of responsibility, and refunds, as necessary.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher. (Preferred)
Required Knowledge:
- Understanding of the full revenue cycle.
- Knowledge of basic accounting concepts.
- Knowledge of related computer applications.
Experience Required:
- At least 1 year of medical billing or coding experience.
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Solid data entry and typing skills.
- Good communication and public relations abilities.
- Detail oriented.
In-Person Schedule:
- Monday to Friday 8 am – 5 pm
License/Certification:
- CPC, CPB or other equivalent certification (Preferred)
