After Office Hours
One of our physicians will always be on call. If you need to inquire about an illness or injury at times when our office is closed, please call our office number 208-292-5437 and you will be automatically transfered to a nurse triage service that will evaluate your needs. We currently provide this as a complementary service to you and your family. They will respond immediately to your child's illness or injury. If the physician needs to be involved they will contact them for you. (1) Because of the expense of this please remember to limit your calls to URGENT problems that cannot wait until regular office hours. (2) We recommend that you take your child to the Emergency department for only emergencies; all other concerns can be handled in the above manner.
Telephone Calls
Telephone calls are an extremely important part of our relationship with you. We make every effort to answer each incoming call as it arrives. However, if your physician and their nurse are with another patient or out of the office , a message will be taken and your call is returned as promptly as possible. If you consider your call to be an emergency, please notify the office staff and someone that can help you will be notified immediately.
We tend to experience our highest call volumes on Mondays and Fridays. Therefore, if your phone call is regarding a non-illness related matter (such as school paperwork, immunization records, etc.) we suggest you call on another business day when our staff may be more available to help you in a timely manner.
No Showed or Late Appointment Policy
We understand that circumstances may occasionally arise causing you to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment we would appreciate at least a 24 hour notice so we may schedule another patient in your time slot. There will be a $25 fee for missed or “no showed” appointments. As a courtesy the $25 charge for the first missed or “no showed” appointment will be waived as we are aware there may be times when it isn’t an intentional action on your part to miss an appointment. However, if you have more than one missed or “no showed” appointment, the $25 fee for the second and subsequent missed appointments will be applied to your account. This fee is not covered by insurance companies and should be paid prior to any future appointments.
If a patient has three missed or “no showed” appointments within a six month period, they may be dismissed from the practice.
We understand that your time is as valuable as ours. We ask that you check in 10 minutes prior to your appointment time. Our staff uses this time to update your demographic information, verify insurance and collect co-payments so you will be ready for your appointment at the scheduled time.
If you are 10 minutes or more late for your scheduled appointment we will have to reschedule the appointment and this will be considered a missed or “no showed” appointment.
Credit Policy, Fees, and Insurance
Many of the services provided by our office are covered and paid by your insurance company. As a courtesy we willingly file the claims for you so that you do not have the additional concern and effort of dealing with this. However, all professional services are rendered to the patient and not the insurance company. As such, all charges, regardless of insurance coverage are the patient's responsibility. Our contracts with the insurance companies require us to collect co-pays at the time of service. Additionally, there are other services (such as circumcisions) that we will require payment for in advance. We ask that if your insurance has not paid within 45 days that you follow up with them.
